Susan Boyle has made a major career announcement, complete with a dramatic new look to match.
The 64-year-old Scottish singer, who shot to global fame when her Britain’s Got Talent audition went viral in 2009, sent the internet into a frenzy on Thursday by sharing a series of photos teasing new music.
“A new era starts tomorrow,” Boyle wrote.

In the images, Boyle is dressed in a brown velvet tracksuit paired with a bold fur coat. She was also sporting her new sleek blonde hairstyle — shoulder-length with blunt bangs.
“I dreamt this dream,” singer Katy Perry commented, referencing Boyle’s famous cover of the song I Dreamed A Dream.
She later followed up her first post with another image showing her in the studio, confirming new music is on the way.
“I’ve heard it’s Susan Boyling out there … and it’s about to get hotter. Just One is out soon,” Boyle captioned the picture.
Before sharing the new posts, Boyle had wiped her Instagram clean — signalling the beginning of a new chapter for the Scottish singer.
The transformation marks a striking change from the short, curly brown hair Boyle had when she first appeared on the UK reality show 16 years ago, delivering a breathtaking rendition of I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables.
Boyle’s audition stunned judges and audiences around the world, turning her into a global sensation and launching a career in which she has sold more than 25 million records.
Her most recent release was Ten in 2019, a compilation album featuring mostly previously released songs.
In a now-deleted Instagram post last year, Boyle revealed she had returned to the studio — something she had been told she “might never achieve again”.
In a short video set to her signature song I Dreamed A Dream, she told fans: “Today’s a special day — it’s my birthday! But I’ve got something exciting to share … I’m back and working on some wonderful new projects that I can’t wait for you to hear about!”
She also thanked fans for their continued support, saying their encouragement “means the world” to her and she is “more determined and excited than ever”.
