Sunrise Star Sam Mac Welcomes Third Child With Rebecca James and Reveals His Sweet Name

Sunrise weather presenter Sam Mac and his fiancée Rebecca James are celebrating the arrival of their third child, sharing the first photograph of their newborn son and revealing the special name chosen for him.

The Channel Seven personality announced the happy news on Friday morning, introducing the newest member of their family as Miles Samuel McMillan.

Sam shared a photograph showing him and Rebecca smiling proudly as they cradled their newborn, who was wrapped in a beige patterned blanket.

“It’s a boy! Welcome to the world,” Sam wrote alongside the family portrait.

He then praised Rebecca following the birth, telling followers that she was recovering well.

“Bec was an absolute superstar. Again. She’s recovering well. What a woman,” he said.

The arrival of Miles means Sam and Rebecca are now parents to three children under the age of four. Their newborn son will join older sisters Margot and Mabel at home.

Sam admitted the size of their young family was already beginning to sink in.

“So excited for this little man to meet his big sisters Margot and Mabel. We now have three under four. Wowsers,” he added.

Friends celebrate the family’s joyful news

Messages of congratulations quickly appeared beneath the announcement, with several well-known Australian personalities welcoming baby Miles.

Television presenter Dr Chris Brown described the newborn as “the best little man”, while Olympic swimmer Liesel Jones celebrated the couple’s “gorgeous family”.

ABC presenter Leigh Sales also sent her love, and children’s entertainment group The Wiggles congratulated Sam and Rebecca on the joyous addition to their family.

The warm public response followed months of anticipation after the couple revealed earlier this year that another baby was on the way.

A playful pregnancy announcement

Sam originally announced Rebecca’s pregnancy through a collection of family photographs featuring the couple and their daughters.

In one image, he kissed Rebecca’s growing baby bump while holding ultrasound photographs. Another showed Rebecca carrying Mabel as Margot stood nearby holding a cookie.

Sam revealed at the time that the baby was expected to arrive in July, but joked that persuading three-year-old Margot to participate in the announcement had required some creative negotiations.

According to the presenter, the family used everything from a bubble machine to a “bribery cookie” to secure the photograph — and he may even have promised Margot a pony.

Despite the behind-the-scenes challenge, Sam said Rebecca was doing well and that Mabel was excited about becoming a big sister.

A new chapter for the growing family

Baby Miles is Sam and Rebecca’s first son and completes a lively household that now includes three children born within four years.

While the couple had publicly documented parts of Rebecca’s pregnancy, the first photograph of Miles offered followers an intimate glimpse at the family’s newest chapter.

For Sam, however, the announcement was also an opportunity to recognise Rebecca — with his heartfelt tribute making clear just how proud he was of his fiancée as they welcomed their little boy into the world.
