Michelle Agyemang, the rising star of the England Lionesses at Euro 2025, has officially rejoined Brighton & Hove Albion on loan from Arsenal for the 2025/26 season. This marks her second spell with The Seagulls, following a successful first loan stint last season.

Euro 2025 Success and the Decision to Return

At just 19 years old, Agyemang made a significant impact at Euro 2025, scoring crucial goals in the knockout stages to help England defend their European crown. She was named Young Player of the Tournament and is now a strong contender for the Kopa Trophy at the Ballon d’Or awards.

Last season, she featured 22 times for Brighton, scoring five goals and playing a key role in the club finishing fifth in the Women’s Super League (WSL). Arsenal decided to send her back to Brighton to ensure she receives regular first-team football, an important step in the development of such a promising young talent.

Statements from Both Clubs

Arsenal’s Women’s Football Director Clare Wheatley said:

“We are extremely proud of Michelle’s achievements this summer and throughout her journey at Arsenal, from her early academy days to the first team. After careful discussions with Michelle and her family, we all agreed that this move provides her with the best opportunity to continue developing, both on and off the pitch. We wish Michelle every success at Brighton and look forward to welcoming her back to Arsenal after her loan spell.”

Brighton manager Dario Vidosic expressed his delight at Agyemang’s return:

“We are thrilled to have Michelle back at Brighton. She had an outstanding season with us previously, and her progress is undeniable. What she achieved with England this summer is impressive but not surprising. Michelle has the quality, work ethic, and champion mentality that every team dreams of.”

Goals for the New Season

Returning to Brighton will allow Agyemang to continue honing her skills and gaining vital WSL experience. Brighton’s new season kicks off on September 7 with a home match against Aston Villa. This loan spell represents an opportunity for Agyemang to further showcase her talent and continue her ascent in women’s football.

Agyemang’s return is expected to benefit both her and Brighton, strengthening the squad and helping the club aim for higher ambitions in the coming season.
