Strictly Come Dancing fans want to see Pete Wicks replace Alison Hammond on a popular ITV show. Viewers have called for the Brummie host of For The Love Of Dogs to be ‘sacked’ in favour of the former TOWIE star.

This Morning host Alison took over the role following the death of Paul O’Grady. However she faced criticism from loyal fans of the show, with many saying she didn’t seem as passionate about animals as her predecessor.

Some do believe that pooch-loving Pete could be a good fit for the programme, The Sun reports. During an online discussion, one said: “Sack Alison Hammond and give Pete her job. He would be so good on For The Love Of Dogs.”

Their view was supported by another who said: “He probably will now he’s become more of a name off of Strictly.” A third wrote: “Came on to say exactly the same. He has the same empathy for dogs as Paul O’Grady did and anyone can see that.” A fourth penned: “Petition for Pete to become the new presenter on For The Love Of Dogs.”

However Pete was already set to front a new programme, Pete Wicks: For Dogs’ Sake, which takes a look behind the scenes at Basildon Dogs Trust. The reality TV star also owns rescue dogs himself and spends time at rehoming centres helping out because he believes every dog deserves to be loved.
