A worker has died after being electrocuted at a building site.
The man, believed to be in his 50s, was working on a scissor lift when it came into contact with overhead power lines on Geelong Road in Laverton North in Melbourne’s west about 2pm on Monday.

Emergency services were called to the site, but the man could not be revived and died at the scene.
He is yet to be formally identified.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and WorkSafe has been notified,” police said in a statement.
WorkSafe confirmed it is investigating the incident.
The site was used by workers involved in the West Gate Tunnel Project, which is being delivered by CPB Contractors and John Holland.
A spokesperson confirmed the worker was engaged by the joint venture.
“We confirm that a tragic incident occurred today at the West Gate Tunnel Project, resulting in the loss of life of a worker,” the spokesperson said.
“Emergency services attended the site, and we are supporting the relevant authorities, including WorkSafe Victoria, in their investigations.
“Our thoughts are with the individual’s family, friends and colleagues. Support is being provided to those affected.
“Work on site has been paused while we assist with the investigation.”
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
