Our Yorkshire Farm’s Reuben Owen and girlfriend Jess Ellwood have taken a big step in their relationship

Reuben Owen has ruled out relocating to city life with his girlfriend, Jess Ellwood.
The TV personality, who rose to fame on Our Yorkshire Farm, has made it clear that neither he nor Jess would consider leaving rural surroundings for city living.
The couple first crossed paths at a Young Farmers’ event in 2024, before publicly confirming their romance in November that year.
Recently, they’ve reached a significant milestone, setting up home together. Reuben, who was raised nearby in Swaledale, is thrilled to be residing at Jess’ family’s farm at Brough Castle in Cumbria.
During their appearance on Storm and Alexis’s Channel 5 programme, the presenters were curious about whether the pair might ever swap an agricultural life for the city.

The stars of Channel 5’s ‘Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales’, both aged 22, have no intention of abandoning their rural lifestyle, reports the Express.
Alexis Conran enquired: “Should I even bother asking you two? Are there any times perhaps you’re doing your farming and thinking ‘God I wish I was in a big town instead of out here'”.
Reuben swiftly dismissed any notion of departing the countryside, responding, “Personally, no. I’ve always grown up in the countryside.”
In a touching exchange, he looked towards his girlfriend Jess and continued, “And working with you, being in the countryside, and spending time together. There is no place I’d rather be, but I’d go anywhere with you.”
Storm Huntley enquired: “So there isn’t going to be a big move for you to come to London, become city slickers anytime.”
The pair aren’t tempted by urban living, with Reuben confirming: “No, I don’t think so.”

In conversation with the Mirror regarding his move into Jess’ home, Reuben explained: “I used to come down at night to see Jess, and I just wouldn’t want to leave her. And then you stay another night, and another.
“It started with a toothbrush, and now my pants are in the washing machine, and my dinner is on the table. Now I’m all in. We’re loving our time together; it just gets better and better. It’s brilliant being with Jess’ family too, they’re such a lovely bunch.”
Discussing Jess’ relatives, Reuben remarked: “They’ve taken me in and welcomed me with open arms. It’s nice to be able to spend all my time with Jess.”
Jess shared her thoughts, saying: “He was there all the time anyway; it just made sense. It’s so lovely living together, really special. We do go out for the odd meal for a date night, and we went on holiday together to Cyprus last year. But, mainly – when we’re not working – you’ll find us cosying up with fish and chips or a Chinese takeaway.”
