Cody Simpson has spoken out about the ‘love of his life’ – and it’s not who you might expect it to be.
The 29-year-old, who split from partner of four years Emma McKeon in February 2026, is enjoying his single era and took to social media to let fans know just how much he was thriving.

“Being single in your late 20s is crazy because what do you mean the love of my life can still be me for a little while,” Simpson captioned a TikTok of himself happily strolling down the street.
The short clip was set to Simpson’s own song Baby Blue.
The singer-turned-champion-swimmer continued his cheer with a stream of posts in the comment section of his video.
“Just realised I can book a flight tomorrow and consult absolutely no one,” he wrote.
The Nice to Meet You singer continued: “Also I don’t have to share my fries.”
It looks like Simpson is prioritising himself in this chapter of his life, concluding: “The closest relationship in my life right now is with my future self.”
Simpson and McKeon quietly went their separate ways in February 2026. They’d been a couple since 2022 and were living together on the Gold Coast.
A pair close to the couple said the split was “amicable,” adding, “They are still really good friends.”
The pair met in early 2022 and bonded over their love of swimming. Simpson had moved into the sport after a long singing career, trying his luck and making the Australian Olympic Team.

They both spoke openly about their relationship, with Simpson previously telling nine.com.au his then-girlfriend, who is the most decorated Australian Olympian of all time, was his “rock in life.”
“Anyone who has that in life is lucky,” he said.
“We bonded through something so specific and special in swimming, but now, living and navigating life after it and doing all different kinds of things, it’s been a really fun journey.”
In his teens and early 20s, Simpson was in long-term relationships with Kylie Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Miley Cyrus.
Simpson has been on vocal rest since discovering a “serious haemorrhage” on one of his vocal cords last month, just weeks after he returned to music.
Simpson said the injury occurred “due to [his] overzealousness in the studio singing through a sinus infection” he “didn’t know” he had.
“I originally thought I could keep this private but it’s come time I share what I’ve been going through,” the post started.

“I assumed it was just fatigue and kept showing up to the studio until one day I could no longer sing properly.”
Simpson’s recovery is up in the air with the singer unsure “how long the journey is going to take or whether surgery will go ahead”.
Meanwhile, he’s teased what appears to be a break-up song with lines including “sometimes I think you took a piece of my heart and it hurts me so bad to leave it like that”.
