Sharon Stone’s brother Michael “Mike” Stone has died. He was 74.
The actress shared the heartbreaking news via Instagram Wednesday, writing, “Mike Stone, My oldest brother, Has passed away. Following an extended illness.
“We wish him peace. Sharon, Roan, Laird & Quinn ,” Sharon concluded, listing her three sons in the sign-off.
Mike, who spent his life mostly out of the spotlight, was an actor like his sister.
He made his acting debut in the 1990 film “End of the Night” and co-starred with his sister in “The Quick and the Dead” five years later.
Although Mike never married, he was briefly engaged to socialite Tamara Beckwith between 1994 and 1995.
His and Sharon’s younger brother, Patrick Stone, died in 2023 at 57.
“We did lose my brother Patrick Joseph Stone to a heart attack yesterday,” Sharon announced in an Instagram video at the time. “Like any family, we thank you for your love and support in this time of immeasurable grief and we appreciate all of your condolences.”
Patrick’s widow, Tasha Stone, also shared the news with friends, writing, “My heart feels like it’s been ripped out of my chest. Patrick went to be with our sweet River … I don’t know what else to say, he was my world.”
River was Patrick and Tasha’s 11-month-old son who died of organ failure in August 2021.
Sharon also has a sister, Kelly, who is the youngest of the four siblings.
They were raised in Pennsylvania and shared a close bond that Sharon wrote about in her 2021 memoir, “The Beauty of Living Twice.”
Their parents, Dorothy Stone and Joseph Stone, wed in 1950 and welcomed their four children during their nearly 60 years together.
The couple remained married until Joseph died in 2009 at 79.
When Dorothy Stone died at 91 last year, Sharon also announced the news via Instagram, writing,“My hilarious, complex mother died. A product of the last depression, let’s NOT do this again.”
