Cody Simpson has given fans an update on his health after revealing a serious haemorrhage on his vocal cords.
The Aussie singer, 29, took to his Instagram Story on Tuesday to reveal that, while he is recovering, he is not out of the woods yet.
He shared a clip that showed him, complete with a face mask, sitting in a doctor’s office.
While waiting for his appointment, a nervous Cody flashed the camera a ‘fingers crossed’ gesture as he awaited an update from doctors.
He followed this with another slide revealing that, while he was on the mend, surgery was ‘looking likely’.
‘Okay. She’s healed a lot but needs more time,’ Cody wrote.

The Aussie singer, 29, took to his Instagram Story on Tuesday to reveal that, while he is recovering, he is not out of the woods yet
‘The haemorrhage is gone but there’s a big damaged blood vessel on the underside of my right vocal cord.’
Cody added that doctors had ordered ‘complete silence’ for a week, and will then assess if he needs to go under the knife.
‘We are doing another week of complete silence and praying for a miracle heal. Send me your love,’ he wrote.
‘We will then make a decision on surgery which is a longer recovery process BUT also reduces the risk of further complications.’
Cody continued: ‘In the meantime… don’t know how long this recovery journey is going to be yet or whether surgery will go ahead, but it’s looking likely.’
It comes after Cody revealed he was forced to temporarily step away from his singing career earlier this month.
He took to Instagram to share a photo of himself hooked up to an EKG monitor as he opened up about the full extent of what he’s been dealing with behind the scenes.
‘Hey guys. I originally thought I could keep this private but it’s time I share what I’ve been going through. Just over a month ago we discovered a serious haemorrhage on one of my vocal cords,’ Cody began.

He explained the injury was triggered after pushing through illness while working in the studio, a decision that ultimately caught up with him.
‘It occurred due to my overzealousness in the studio singing, through a sinus infection I didn’t know I had. Assumed it was just fatigue and kept showing up to the studio until one day I could no longer sing,’ he wrote.
The setback has already disrupted key career commitments, including scheduled promotional appearances, while also putting his upcoming music plans on hold.
‘I’ve now been on and off vocal rest for weeks, cancelling TV and radio performances in the process.
‘This has also affected my ability to complete the album and polish up the next singles. I’ve just been prescribed another 2 weeks of silence in hopes of avoiding a surgery which demands a much longer recovery process.
‘I’m back in the studio now writing strictly as a lyricist on mute with my collaborators, and hearing/writing my vocal melodies on my guitar (which I will eventually replace with my voice when I’m able to).
‘Where there’s a will, there’s a way.’
Despite the uncertainty, Cody says he is trying to reframe the experience as a forced reset rather than a setback.

‘I’d like to bring you on the journey. I’ve been extremely up and down but am now reframing this as a realignment for the long-term good,’ he wrote.
Earlier this year, Cody gave fans an update on his relationship status after his split with Emma McKeon.
It was revealed in February that Cody and Emma had called time on their relationship after four years together.
Following the news, Cody was dogged by persistent romance rumours, particularly after being spotted looking very cosy with American influencer Adelia Clark last month.
Taking to Instagram and TikTok, the pop star revealed that he is taking some ‘me time’ following his split with Emma.
