It has been one of the most talked-about tragedies of the year — the horrifying crash that reduced a £160,000 Aston Martin DBX to a fireball and took the life of former Aviva CEO David Barral on Leeds Road earlier this month.
Now, in a dramatic twist, police investigators say they are pursuing a new theory that could completely change how the fatal incident is understood.
According to sources close to the investigation, officers discovered an unusual mechanical anomaly during a detailed forensic inspection of the luxury SUV’s remains. The discovery, described only as “a strange detail inside the engine compartment,” has led detectives to re-examine the possibility of deliberate interference with the vehicle’s internal systems.
