Service to be held for Louth road tragedy victim Chloe Hipson in Glasgow next week

A service will be held for young Chloe Hipson, who tragically lost her life along with four friends in a collision, in Glasgow next week.

Chloe McGee, 23, Shay Duffy, 21, Alan McCluskey, 23, Dylan Commins, 23, and Chloe Hipson, 21 tragically lost their lives when the Volkswagen Golf they were travelling in collided with a Toyota Land Cruiser in Louth on Saturday, November 15. The funerals of Dylan Commins and Alan McCluskey took place on Friday, November 21. Dylan brought “light, laughter and adventure” to everyone’s lives, mourners were told at his funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Nativity Church in Ardee.

Mourners at the funeral Mass of Alan McCluskey heard he was a “gentle giant with a brave heart, gifted hands and a soul full of kindness, who adored his mam and dad.” Chloe McGee and Shay Duffy were laid to rest on Saturday, November 22. Mourners who gathered at St. Joseph’s Church were told of how Chloe was “a bubbly character with infectious laughter and smiles that could light up any room”.

Mourners at St Patrick’s Church heard Shay was a “project driven, always on the go, confident and a problem solver” during his funeral Mass. Chloe, who is from Bellshill in Lanarkshire, Scotland, will be remembered at a service in Daldowie Crematorium, Glasgow on Tuesday, December 2 at 11.45am.

A gathering for family and friends took place on Wednesday, November 19, in the Eternity Room of Quinn’s Funeral Homes, Dundalk. Chloe will be remembered by her heartbroken parents Ryan and Toni, her brothers Ryan and Tommy, her aunt Brodé, her grandparents, extended family and many friends.
