RICKY HATTON’S nephew is ready to get back in the ring and pay tribute to his late uncle.
British boxing great Hatton was found dead in his Manchester home on September 14 aged 46.
He leaves behind son Campbell, daughters Fearne and Millie as well as granddaughter Lyla.
His brother Matthew – also a former professional boxer – carried the former two-weight world champion’s coffin at the October funeral.
And Matthew’s son Jack revealed the touching tribute he has paid his legendary uncle in the form of his boxing shorts.
Jack’s trunks feature a silhouette logo of his uncle with Richard printed above, writing online: “Ready to be back in the ring doing what I love to do, can’t wait.”
Hatton also helped coach nephew Jack – who is a Manchester United fan, unlike his City-mad uncle.
The amateur boxer is a two-time national champion and competes in the semi-finals of the National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs (NABGC) Championships.
Cousin Campbell, 24, turned pro in 2021 but retired from the sport this year with a record of 14 wins and just two losses.
He courageously spoke out following his dad’s passing.
Campbell said on Good Morning Britain: “It’s been a bit of a whirlwind the last few weeks.
“Obviously, we’ve been leading up to the funeral, which was unbelievable to see the amount of love everyone had for my dad.
“There were thousands in the streets, and there was a lot of comfort to take from that.
“It has been very up and down, really, but just as a family, we’re trying to take each day at a time, really.”
An inquest heard Hatton was found hanged at his home in Hyde.
His family revealed they have set up a charity in his name to help others.
Long-time manager Paul Speak found the much-loved star unresponsive at the £1.7million home where he lived by himself.
Paul told The Sun: “The message we are trying to pass on is, you don’t need to fight alone.
“If you need help, seek help, and talk to someone if you’re struggling.”
