Emma Raducanu, 23, shares rare four-word health update after missing string of huge tournaments

EMMA RADUCANU confirmed she’s feeling “much better” amid a lengthy layoff from the WTA Tour.

The British No1 has not played since Indian Wells in early March.

Raducanu, 23, subsequently withdrew from Miami before a lingering viral illness caused her to miss events in Linz and Madrid.

Following an extended absence from social media, the former US Open champion posted a photo dump to Instagram.

Alongside a fingers crossed emoji, a fan commented: “I can’t wait to see you back out on court soon. I hope you’re feeling a lot better now.”

Raducanu replied: “much better thank you x”.

The tennis star’s photo dump featured selfies, pictures from practice, a trip to an art gallery and even a snap of herself reading a book while sitting on a luggage rack on the train.

Fans will be hoping to see Raducanu return to action next week in Rome.

The Masters 1000 event begins on May 5 at Foro Italico and was the scene of one of Raducanu’s best runs of last year.

She defeated Maya Joint, Jill Teichmann and Veronika Kudermetova on the Italian clay before finally falling to Coco Gauff in round four.
