Woman, 28, charged with murder after man, 54, found dead in park in Lowestoft

A WOMAN has been charged with murder after a 54-year-old man was found dead in a park.

Amber Stebbings, 28, was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody.

Police launched an investigation after the victim, Gary, was found unresponsive in Lowestoft, Suffolk, on Friday night.

Emergency crews were scrambled to Sparrow’s Nest Gardens just before 10.15pm.

But despite the best efforts of medical teams, the man was sadly declared dead at the scene.

A murder probe has since been launched following his death, as his family are supported by cops.

Suffolk Police confirmed Stebbings was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Station for questioning.

She is due to appear at Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

The force said it was treating the case as an isolated incident, and it is believed Stebbings and Gary were known to one another.

The force has now urged anyone with any information or potential footage to come forward.

The force said: “A Home Office post-mortem will take place in due course.

“Officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information.

“This includes anyone driving in the area around the time that may have a dash camera.”

Suffolk Police have called on anyone with information to contact the force quoting crime reference 37/16062/26.
