Alex de Minaur’s Secret Wedding Date Raises Questions Among Tennis Fans

Australian tennis star Alex de Minaur and British player Katie Boulter have quietly tied the knot in an intimate ceremony surrounded by close family and friends.
The tennis power couple reportedly married on July 12 at a historic church in Leicestershire, near Boulter’s home village. While news of the private celebration was met with warm congratulations, the date chosen for the ceremony quickly became an unexpected talking point among tennis followers.

A Special Day That Coincided With Wimbledon

The wedding took place on the same day as the Wimbledon men’s singles final — a match De Minaur could theoretically have been competing in when the couple began planning their celebration.
Despite experiencing a challenging season before the tournament, the Australian entered Wimbledon as the No.5 seed and was considered capable of making a strong run through the draw.
That coincidence prompted some fans to wonder what arrangements might have been made had De Minaur reached the final.
Several social media users questioned whether the couple had prepared an alternative plan, while others simply expressed surprise that a highly ranked player would schedule such an important personal occasion during the final weekend of a Grand Slam.
The timing does not necessarily reveal anything about De Minaur’s expectations for the tournament. Weddings, particularly those involving venues and family travel, are often organised many months in advance, and the couple has not publicly explained how the date was selected.

A Deliberately Private Ceremony
Away from the discussion surrounding the timing, the wedding itself was described as deeply personal and intentionally low-key.
Boulter wore a long white gown with her blonde hair swept up, while De Minaur chose a black suit, white shirt and bow tie.
In an unconventional touch, the couple arrived together in a black Porsche Carrera before walking towards the church, with Boulter leading and De Minaur following behind.
Only a small group of family members reportedly attended the service, while local residents were asked not to take photographs.
The ceremony was followed by a celebration at a nearby pub — offering the newlyweds a quiet beginning to married life far removed from the crowds and global attention surrounding Wimbledon.
De Minaur and Boulter have been together for six years, and although their chosen wedding date has inspired plenty of questions, the couple appeared determined to keep the occasion focused on the people and memories that mattered most to them.
