Lachie Neale Brownlow speech resurfaces as Jules’ former friend spotted in public

Jules Neale’s former friend Tess Crosley has been spotted in another state while husband Lachie’s recent speech begins to swirl.

It comes as a recent speech delivered by Neale’s husband — Brisbane Lions star Lachie Neale — begins to swirl.

Crosley — who became embroiled in the saga after it was reported she fell out with Jules amid an “unimaginable betrayal” within the Neales’ marriage – shared photos of herself on Boxing Day kicking back in a bikini and a cowboy hat while on a serene getaway with her young son in northern NSW.

Photographers have now spotted Crosley back in Queensland where she has been sighted out with her son on the Gold Coast.

The Instagram and TikTok influencer looked as busy as most parents are while looking after a child while lugging bags of groceries.

Dressed in a baggy blue shirt and matching denim shorts, Crosley did not look like a woman who has made headlines across the country in recent weeks since Jules publicly told her to delete photos of the couple from her Instagram page.

It comes as the footballer’s recent public comments about his wife continue to swirl across cyberspace.

The two-time AFL premiership winner’s 2020 Brownlow Medal acceptance speech is the latest comment that has got tongues wagging.

The 32-year-old delivered a classy speech when awarded the medal during a bizarre presentation which took place inside the Queensland “biosecure bubble” at the height of the covid pandemic.

Neale presented the medal to himself following a vote count at the Gabba.

He singled Jules out when thanking friends and family members for their ongoing support.

“I want to thank my family, want to thank my wife Jules obviously. She is an amazing human being,” he said as Channel 7 cut to vision of Jules wiping away tears in the background.

“Not many people probably know, but she owned a salon in Perth before we decided to move to Brisbane and she had to sell that to come over here and follow my dreams.

“She was doing very well for herself over there, but she always puts me ahead of herself when she shouldn’t have to, and she is the most selfless person I know. Thank you very much Jules. I love you.”

He thanked Jules again after winning the award in 2023, calling his wife his “rock”.

It is one of several previous public statements that have been left looking incredibly awkward in the wake of the couple’s marriage collapse.

Jules has wiped her husband from her Instagram page, with all photos of the pair deleted.

She has also deleted all photos of Crosley.

Jules commented on a recent Instagram post of Crosley, calling her out for not deleting the pictures of the Lions’ grand final celebrations in September, which contained both her and Lachie.

“Take these (pictures) down, you idiot you’re embarrassing yourself,’’ Jules wrote, in a comment that has since been deleted.

The Herald Sun reported Jules was referring to “a deception” by her close friend.

One TikTok clip posted by Crosley has also been left looking awkward.

Crosley in June shared a video of herself, husband Ben Crosley, Lachie Neale and Julie Neale performing a TikTok trend together.

The clip shows the couples performing the “Hope our husbands like each other” gag.

The eight second video starts with Jules mimicking the phrase: “I hope our husband’s get along”.

Crosley, who is married with one son, then mimics the words “me too” before the camera cuts to a shot of Lachie and Ben with their arms linked drinking a cocktail.

The video was shared when Lions players were given time off during the club’s Round 16 bye week.

The messy saga has continued to twist this week after Jules on Tuesday posted an Instagram story which featured Busselton Jetty, south of Perth. The photo of the beach was accompanied by a heart mending emoji.

It has been widely reported she returned home to be with her family in Western Australia.

Lachie, meanwhile, has also returned to his home state of South Australia, according to The Advertiser.

The AFL star is spending time in a family holiday house in the coastal town of Robe, about 300km southeast of Adelaide. He was seen on Saturday morning getting into a car, the publication reports.

The couple’s Brisbane home reportedly remains vacant after a moving truck was seen parked in the drive way last week.

Crosley spent the festive season enjoying some relaxation, Instagram photos suggest.

Poolside snaps and sweeping hinterland views painted the picture of a luxurious escape in Northern NSW with a number of other women and their children.

Crosley shared the Instagram gallery alongside the song Burn, Burn, Burn by Zach Bryan, which talks about reconnecting with the simple things in life and living authentically with few but genuine friendships.

Lyrics include the line: “My exes hate me and my friends all miss me, I wanna drown in rot gut whiskey, leave this small town for awhile.”

Later Bryan sings: “[I want] few good friends I can count on one of my hands.

“I wanna feel it all, joy, pain, and sky… We all burn, burn, burn and then die.”

Crosley’s husband Ben, whom she married in 2017, does not appear in any of the images shared on Friday or others shared on Christmas Day. Another detail noticeably absent is Crosley’s wedding ring.

Jules and Lachie were married in 2018 and appeared the perfect couple.

The pair met during the footballer’s time playing for the Fremantle Dockers when the then 18-year-old midfielder asked her out at a popular Perth nightspot.

She rejected him at the time but they soon got together and before moving to Brisbane when Lachie joined the Lions in 2018.

“Once you have kids, you play for different reasons,” Neale told Style Magazine in an interview published in November.

“You’ve got a bigger purpose, and you just want to make them proud.” He admits balancing family life with professional sport can be tricky, crediting Jules as the stabilising force in the family.

“I’m probably a little bit selfish in my habits, striving to be the best I can be, and Jules is very good at allowing me to do that.”

Jules replied: “It’s funny when he says that, because I don’t see it as selfish.

“Everything he does to be the best is for our family. That’s what lets us live this beautiful life. I’m super happy to let him do what he needs to do.”

“Without footy, I wouldn’t have my kids. I wouldn’t have Jules. It’s given me so much,” Neale said after winning two consecutive premierships with the Lions.

“When I first started, I thought success was playing AFL, then winning a Brownlow, then a premiership.

“But nothing ever really satisfies you. If you’d asked me when I was a kid, I’d have said what I’ve already achieved is success. But you’re always searching for what’s next.

“So now, I think it’s about the memories and the relationships you’ve formed. Those people are gonna be the ones who’ll still be there for you after footy.”

“Relationships are success,” Jules said in the interview, which was accompanied by a video campaign promoting Brisbane airport, showing the couple walking through the terminal holding hands and looking loved up as they browse shops.

“That’s what binds everything together – being a good parent, a good friend, a wife, a daughter. Without good relationships and good people around you, everything crumbles.”

There is no suggestion of wrongdoing on Crosley’s part.

Crosley, Lachie and the Brisbane Lions are all yet to make a public comment.
