The new Premier League season is just four days away and plenty of transfer sagas continue to drag on. Liverpool’s hopes of landing Alexander Isak look to be over after Newcastle’s hierarchy made it clear to the player that he would NOT be leaving.

The Reds saw an offer worth more than £100million rejected last week. But even with Newcastle adamant they will not sell, talk of a move persists with Isak looking to pursue the exit door.

Manchester United showed off new signing Benjamin Sesko on Saturday and they are now set to focus on outgoings, though they continue to be linked with a shock swoop for Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Manchester City are looking to get Jack Grealish off their books with Everton set to take him on loan whilst Tottenham have enquired about signing Savinho. Crystal Palace have also confessed that captain Marc Guehi could be sold if he doesn’t sign a new deal.

The Blues’ move for Xavi Simons could yet be completed before then, while Arsenal continue to eye Eberechi Eze and look to offload the likes of Fabio Vieira. Stay up to date with Mirror Football as we keep you across it all.

Forest coy on Ipswich star

Nottingham Forest are weighing whether to go back in for Ipswich star Omari Hutchinson or move on to other targets, according to reports.

They had a bid worth £35m rejected by Ipswich. That offer was the same value as his relegation clause, which has now expired.

Ipswich do not want to sell Hutchinson and value him closer to £40m and it remains to be seen whether those from the City Ground will pay that much.

Forest close on McAtee signing

It is understood that Nottingham Forest are closing in on a deal to sign James McAtee from Man City. An agreement over a deal worth in excess of £20m is now into the final stages.

The England U21 international has reportedly also agreed personal terms with Forest, and has chosen Nuno Espirito Santo’s side despite plenty of interest from elsewhere, including leading clubs in Germany.

Newcastle outcast touches down ahead of exit

Newcastle goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos has landed in Spain to undergo a medical with Sevilla.

Vlachodimos, 31, will join the La Liga outift on a season-long loan.

The Greece international told assembled media in Seville that he was ‘very happy’ to be joining Matias Almeyda’s side.

After joining from Nottingham Forest last summer in a PSR-induced deal thought to be worth around £20million, Vlachodimos made just one appearance for Eddie Howe’s side.

Man City considering £86m Rodrygo bid

Manchester City are weighing up a move for Rodrygo – and have already been given the green light by Real Madrid.

Rodrygo, 24, is available for around €100million (£86.5m) and reports from Italy claim that City are interested.

Pep Guardiola is described as a big fan of the Brazilian winger, whose arrival would offset the impending depatures of Jack Grealish, James McAtee and Savinho.

Arsenal have also been linked.

Barcelona not planning to replace Martinez

Hansi Flick says that Barcelona aren’t planning to sign a replacement for Inigo Martinez.

Martinez’s move to Al-Nassr over the weekend came relatively out of the blue, having been a standout in Barca’s title-winning campaign last season.

At 34, the centre-back has decided to earn a payday in Saudi Arabia and was allowed to leave for free thanks to a clause in his contract.

Asked after beating Como 5-0 in a friendly last night whether Barcelona plan to replace Martinez, Flick replied: “I don’t think so at the moment.

“I will talk to (sporting director) Deco when he is here and then we will see.”

Everton have £50m Grealish option

Everton will be able to buy Jack Grealish for £50m if he impresses on loan, according to Sky Sports.

That would still represent a 50 percent loss for Manchester City.

Grealish is expected to complete his loan switch in time to be considered for Everton’s Premier League opener against Leeds.

Forest keen on Tsimikas

Nottingham Forest could offer Kostas Tsimikas a route away from Liverpooll.

Fabrizio Romano reports that the club made an approach earlier in the summer, with Tsimikas now Liverpool’s third-choice left-back behind Milos Kerkez and Andy Robertson.

Forest are on the lookout for a new player in the position after Alex Moreno’s loan wasn’t made permanent.

Chelsea could still reintegrate Jackson

Chelsea haven’t ruled out reintegrating Nicolas Jackson if they can’t find a buyer, according to BBC Sport.

The Senegalese striker has dropped down the pecking order, and wasn’t involved in the Blues’ pre-season double header over the weekend.

Newcastle continue to be linked, but the former Villarreal star could yet remain at Stamford Bridge.

What does Palace appeal mean for transfers?

Crystal Palace have lost their CAS appeal and will play in the Conference League this season.

What might that mean for the Eagles’ summer business, though?

Marc Guehi and Ebere Eze are both in high demand, and may opt to leave to play in a different European competition.

PSG agree Zabarnyi deal

Illya Zabarnyi is due to join Paris Saint-Germain from Bournemouth in a big-money deal.

Sky Sports reports the fee at £54.5m, while reports in France indicate the Ukrainian will sign a five-year contract.

Zabarnyi’s arrival in Paris comes after the departure of Milan Skriniar, who completed a permanent Fenerbahce move after a successful loan.

Arsenal receive Zinchenko offer

Fenerbahce have put in a bid for Arsenal’s Oleksandr Zinchenko, according to reports in Turkey.

The Ukraine international was on the bench for the Emirates Cup win on Saturday, but could yet leave for the right price.

Arsenal have been looking for around £13m for the former Manchester City man, but may end up settling for a bit less than that.

Everton ‘reach Grealish agreement’

Jack Grealish’s loan move to Everton looks to be on.

According to Fabrizio Romano, an agreement has been reached ahead of a loan deal.

Grealish is due to undergo a medical today before completing the move.

Garnacho drops exit int

Alejandro Garnacho shared a photo with a sand timer emoji as his Manchester United exit appears to draw closer.

Chelsea are understood to have agreed terms with the winger, though they have yet to agree a fee with United.

“I think with Garnacho, you can understand and you can see that he’s talented, he’s a really talented boy,” Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim said of the Argentina international earlier in the summer.

“But sometimes things don’t work out and you cannot explain specifically what it is.”

Thiaw set for Newcastle medical

Malick Thiaw is due to undergo a medical today ahead of joining Newcastle, according to The Athletic.

German international Thiaw will cost the Magpies around £30m plus add-ons in a move from AC Milan.

His arrival comes after Lloyd Kelly left for Juventus in a permanent move after a spell on loan in Turin.

Hojlund ‘open to’ Milan switch

Manchester United star Rasmus Hojlund is open to joining AC Milan, according to the MEN.

Milan are said to prefer a loan move for the Dane, while United would favour a permanent switch.

Hojlund’s star has fallen at Old Trafford following the arrival of Benjamin Sesko, whose move from RB Leipzig was made official over the weekend.

What does Savinho move mean for Elliott?

Tottenham’s interest in Savinho may mean Harvey Elliott’s future lies elsewhere.

The Liverpool star had been linked with Spurs after James Maddison’s injury, but Savinho – likely to cost similar to the £40-50m the Reds want for Elliott – might well be seen as an alternative.

Elliott has also been linked with RB Leipzig, who could yet step up theri interest if Xavi Simons joins Chelsea.

Nicolas Jackson’s transfer preference

Nicolas Jackson would favour a Newcastle switch if he leaves Chelsea this summer, according to The Telegraph.

The Senegal striker has dropped down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the arrival of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.

And Newcastle could provide an escape route – especially if last season’s top scored Alexander Isak leaves St James’ Park this summer.

Does Grealish need Everton move?

Jack Grealish continues to be linked with a move away from Manchester City.

Everton seems the most likely destination, though the Toffees would need to spend big – even if just for a loan.

The England international still has time to foirce himself into Thomas Tuchel’s plans for next summer’s World Cup – but he has to get his next move right.

DONE DEAL: Danjuma moves to Valencia

Arnaut Danjuma has left Villarreal for Valencia.

The Dutch forward spent last season on loan at Girona but had been back at Villarreal before completing his move to the Mestalla.

Danjuma, 28, spent two seasons with Bournemouth earlier in his career and also had Premier League loans ar Spurs and Everton.

Liverpool have ‘room for’ striker amid Isak latest

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk believes there is still scope for the Reds to strengthen in attack.

Newcastle remain keen to keep the Reds’ top target Alexander Isak, but there is still time to get a deal done.

“Well, we just lost Darwin, He went to Saudi and we lost Lucho [Luis Diaz], obviously he went to Bayern,” Van Dijk told talkSPORT.

“I think there’s always room for an attacker in order to strengthen us so let’s see what the window brings in terms of the balance of the team.”

Spurs ready for Savinho swoop

Tottenham Hotspur could move for Manchester City’s Savinho after losing James Maddison to injury.

The former Troyes winger could leave the Etihad Stadium after just one season, with City already having added tricky playmaker Rayan Cherki to their ranks this summer.

Spurs will be without Maddison for most of the campaign after he suffered an ACL injury in pre-season.

Morata transfer gets green light

Alvaro Morata’s loan at Galatasaray has been cut short, with the Turkish club receiving seven-figure compensation.

He had been due to stay in Istanbul until January, with an option to make the move permanent, but is now poised to join Como.

The 32-year-old scored six goals in 12 league games last term to help Gala wik the Super Lig.

Arteta’s transfer update amid Eze links

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta hasn’t ruled out further transfer activity as the Gunners continue to be linked with Ebere Eze.

“Let’s see what happens in terms of where the squad is in the next few weeks, but we are actively looking at options, as well there are a few players maybe that they have to leave as well so we’ll be open to see what happens,” he said after a weekend victory over Atletic Club.

Viktor Gyokeres scored his first Arsenal goal in the pre-season game, with Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz also on target.

Forest want MIlan’s Musah

Nottingham Forest are interested in bringing United States midfielder Yunus Musah to England, according to The Athletic.

The 22-year-old was linked with other Premier League clubs before joining Milan in 2023.

Forest are after reinforcements in the middle of the park after offloading Lewis O’Brien and Danilo.

Palace chief’s Guehi stance

Crystal Palace will let Marc Guehi leave for the right price, according to chairman Steve Parish.

“Of course, for players of that calibre to leave on a free, it is a problem for a football club,” he said, with Guehi’s current deal expiring next summer.

“We will just have to see what happens. It needs a new contract or a conclusion of some kind.””

West Ham keen on Pellegrini

West Ham are interested in signing Lorenzo Pellegrini from Roma, according to reports in Italy (via Sport Witness).

The midfielder will reportedly be available for nothing as the Giallorossi look to get his wages off the books.

West Ham are still after reinforcements as they prepare to face Sunderland in their Premier League opener.

Sunderland close in on Alderete

Sunderland’s busy summer looks set to continue, with Fabzirio Romano reporting that Omar Alderete is on his way to the Stadium of light.

The Paraguay international centre-back is due to join from Getafe in a deal worth around £10m.

The deal comes after a move for left-back Arthur Masuaku went through over the weekend.

Does Community Shield make Guehi move necessary?

Liverpool’s defensive frailties were laid bare in the Community Shield.

The Reds had already been linked with Marc Guehi, but now their need for a centre-back might prompt them to act quickly.

Crystal Palace aren’t budging on their asking price – now it’s up to the Reds to meet it.

Nkunku has struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge after joining the Blues from Leipzig.

And with Chelsea keen on signing Simons, a swap deal is currently being discussed which would see Nkunku return to his former club, per The Guardian.

Man Utd urged to keep Hojlund

Mikael Silvestre says Manchester United would be making a mistake if they offload Rasmus Hojlund.

The Red Devils are understood to have told the Dane he can leave Old Trafford after signing Benjamin Sesko.

But Silvestre, speaking to Hajper via The Metro, said: “Marcus Rashford has gone and there are not a lot of strikers around, Joshua Zirkzee is a different type of striker that doesn’t make those runs in behind the defence.

“He is another type of player for certain games, certain opposition. But no, you need competition, need quality, so I wouldn’t rush into sending Rasmus Hojlund out on loan if Sesko signs. Absolutely not.”

Man Utd in for Donnarumma

Gianluigi Donnarumma now looks likely to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer, opening the door for a shock move to Manchester United.

The Italian, 26, has just a year remaining on his contract. And the French giants are anticipating offers from his suitors after signing Lucas Chevalier from Lille.

United are among the clubs keen on signing Donnarumma, though they are likely to need outgoings to fund any further signings.

Isak latest

Eddie Howe admits he has no idea if Newcastle’s hierarchy have informed Alexander Isak he will not be sold before the transfer deadline.

The Telegraph reported over the weekend that such a decision had been communicated to the Swede, who has been left furious by Newcastle’s stance.

But Howe, when asked by reporters on Saturday, said: “No, that’s not something I’m aware of. I’m not party to all discussions, but I have no knowledge of that.”

Glasner wants more signings after winning Community Shield

What a moment for Palace to follow up their FA Cup win over Man City with another huge win over Premier League champions Liverpool in the Community Shield.

New transfers have been a bit quiet at Selhurst Park this summer and manager Oliver Glasner has called for “one or two” additions to help his side compete in the UEFA Conference League.

He said: “Of course, if somebody needs a break – such as Daichi Kamada today and maybe we will miss him at Chelsea – and we need just maybe need to add one or two players.

“It’s not that I have to tell the chairman or somebody, we know it is about finding the right ones. I’m pretty sure we will find the right ones.

“We’re looking for really clear profiles, great characters, you can see the spirit and the togetherness in the group.”

Newcastle prepare Thiaw medical

The Magpies look like they’re finally close to landing a signing after some huge setbacks in this transfer window.

Sky in Germany are reporting that AC Milan star Malick Thiaw is set to have a medical on Tyneside on Monday before handing him his first training session the following day if everything goes to plan.

Newcastle have already agreed a £36m deal and agreed a four-year contract with the player.

Leipzig want Nkunku return

It’s simply not worked out for Christopher Nkunku at Chelsea, unfortunately, and he could be set for a move back to Red Bull Leipzig, where he was a hit before his £53m move to Stamford Bridge in 2023.

According to PA, Leipzig are keen on a reunion for Nkunku and want him to be included in any deal for their forward Xavi Simons, who Chelsea are interested in signing this summer.

Tsimikas on his way out?

There is NO place for Kostas Tsimikas on the Liverpool bench in their Community Shield against Crystal Palace today, he’s completely out of the matchday squad.

Reports claim that Leeds and Nottingham Forest are now looking on his situation with his position looking uncertain under Arne Slot.

Chelsea eye Hincapie

Chelsea are in the market for another defender despite recently signing Jorrell Hato from Ajax, following the long-term injury of Levi Colwill.

Colwill has suffered an agonising ACL blow and boss Enzo Maresca is eager to snap up more defensive depth – with Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie identified as a target.

It might be challenging to convince the German club to sanction a deal considering they have already lost a crop of top talent – including Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Jonathan Tah and Granit Xhaka.

Hincapie is a talented left-sided centre-back who would bring a lot of depth to Chelsea’s squad and experience having won the Bundesliga with Leverkusen in 2024.

Spurs line up McAtee

Tottenham are scrambling to find a replacement for James Maddison after news that the playmaker has ruptured his ACL and could miss the majority of the season.

Spurs are on the lookout for a new No 10 and Manchester City star James McAtee is now in their sights, according to the Sun.

The reports claims Spurs are considering putting in a £40m bid for the England youth star to test City’s resolve.

Arsenal consider Lookman as Eze replacement

Arsenal are considering Ademola Lookman as an alternative to Eberechi Eze this summer, as per reports.

Crystal Palace and England star Eze continuing to be linked with a move across London to the Emirates, but so far the Eagles have managed to retain their star player.

Mikel Arteta wants to add more quality on the wings and may go after the Atalanta star, who is looking to leave the Italian club and has thrived throughout his time in Serie A.

Hojlund open to Man Utd exit

Rasmus Hojlund is prepared to admit defeat on his career at Man United and pursue the exit door after the signing of Benjamin Sesko pushed him further down the pecking order.

Hojlund has previously rejected the potential of a move to RB Leipzig when the Manchester outfit were negotiating over a deal for Sesko. Now though the Dane is being more receptive to the idea of leaving Old Trafford with AC Milan coming to the table.

The Italians are in talks with United over a potential move and would prefer a loan deal with a buy option at the end of the season.

DCL sacks agent and will lead own search

Former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has sacked his agent will take the lead on his own transfer negotiations as he looks for a new club – with Man United his ultimate goal.

The 28-year-old is now a free agent after his deal with the Toffees came to an end and is seeking his next opportunity, which he hopes could come at Old Trafford. Whilst Calvert-Lewin struggled for goals last term he has been prolific in the past with injuries disrupting his career.

Many believed that his previous exploits would see a raft of offers come in, especially given he’s been linked with United and Newcastle in the past, but nothing has been forthcoming. The England international, who won 11 caps for his country, is ready to take his destiny into his own hands, reports The Sun, with his next move yet to be decided.

Newcastle land Liverpool teen star

There may be an ongoing tussle between Liverpool and Newcastle over the future of Alexander Isak, but a Reds youngster is heading to Tyneside after a rejecting a new deal on Merseyside.

But a world away from the multi-millions involved in that deal, 16-year-old Reds midfielder Isaac Moran has opted to leave Liverpool’s academy and make the move to Newcastle.

A former England youth captain, Moran was promoted from Liverpool’s under-16s to their under -18s for the final three matches of last season, playing the full 90 minutes in games against Nottingham Forest, Wolves and Sunderland.

Sheffield Wednesday eye Man Utd duo on loan

Man United could throw Championship crisis club Sheffield Wednesday a lifeline, with two stars targeted for a move to Hillsborough.

According to The Star, Wednesday are interested in signing both Harry Amass and Toby Collyer on loan for the following campaign. Both youngsters are available, with Collyer himself having expressed his desire for more first-team football.

Howe claims to have no knowledge of Newcastle’s Isak stance

Speaking after his side’s pre-season friendly clash with Atletico Madrid on Saturday Howe said: “No, that’s not something I’m aware of. I’m not party to all discussions, but I have no knowledge of that.”

Newcastle closing on Milan star

Newcastle have reached an agreement for the signing of AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw, according to Fichajes.

The defender has already told the Premier League club he’s keen to join as the Magpies look to get some faces through the door.

Milan have already eyed up their replacement as they look to land Fiorentina’s Pietro Comuzzo.

Arsenal’s possible exits

A host of fringe stars are up for grabs at Arsenal. Fulham remain in discussions over a swoop for Reiss Nelson following his loan spell at Craven Cottage last season.

Nelson, who returned to training with Arsenal in La Manga after undergoing hamstring surgery in February, also has other suitors from the Premier League.

Fulham have been trying to structure an initial loan but the Gunners favour a permanent deal even though Nelson made an impression on their pre-season tour of Asia. Arsenal view him as one of their most-sellable assets and any transfer would also reflect 100 per cent profit against PSR regulations as he’s a Hale End academy graduate.

Then there’s Fabio Vieira, a £34.7m arrival from Porto in the summer of 2022 that is still yet to find his feet at the Emirates. Stuttgart are continuing discussions over a permanent transfer with Arsenal seeking a package worth up to £17.35m (€20m).

Everton pushing for Grealish loan

Everton have cranked up their efforts to sign Jack Grealish as he aims to revive his career. The Man City winger faces little future at the Etihad Stadium having been told to leave by Pep Guardiola.

According to The Times, David Moyes’ side are upping their attempts to take Grealish to Merseyside. They are keen to sign him on loan and further conversations regarding an agreement have recently taken place.

City are aiming to recoup as much of Grealish’s £300k-per-week wage packet as possible, a demand that Everton are seemingly open to meeting. The winger is also open to a move across the north west.

Nunez departs Liverpool

Liverpool have confirmed the departure of Darwin Nunez, who has joined Saudi side Al-Hilal. The Uruguayan striker has moved to the Middle East for a fee of around £46.3m.

A statement from the Reds on Saturday evening read: “Liverpool FC can confirm Darwin Nunez has completed a permanent transfer to Al-Hilal, subject to international clearance. The Uruguayan’s three-year spell with the Reds concludes after he finalised a switch to the Saudi Pro League side today.”

A reminder of the Isak situation

Alexander Isak has been left fuming after Newcastle made it clear to him that he will not be sold this summer – ending his hopes of a move to Liverpool.

The Swede was told of the club’s decision with the Telegraph reporting he did not take it well and will continue training away from the first-team. Isak has been informed that, until he accepts that he will not be getting the move away he wanted, he will not play for Newcastle after being left out of their pre-season games.

Milan line-up Hojlund loan – but he’s not sold

AC Milan have started discussing a possible loan deal for a Rasmus Hojlund.

It is understood the Italians will have to pay Man United a £5.1m loan fee, cover the striker’s wages and include an £38.9m.

The major current stumbling block is that Hojlund is currently insisting on staying at Old Trafford despite not playing in Saturday’s friendly.

Farke drops transfer hint

Leeds boss Daniel Farke admits he still wants to add a new number 10 to his squad before next month’s deadline.

He said: “Overall, the traditional genius number 10 is always a bit more important when you’re fighting for promotion or for the title than perhaps to fight relegation.

“I’ve heard a lot of great things about the Club. I played West Ham twice last season and playing at London Stadium was a great experience. It’s an amazing stadium with loud, passionate fans. It’s what you dream of as a footballer and I can’t wait to play in front of 62,500 fans as a West Ham player.

“The fans can expect me to be brave and bring good energy to help the team in the best way I can. This is a great step in my career. I have huge ambitions and I can’t wait to get started.”

Slot hits back at Liverpool spend narrative

Slot is clearly frustrated that Liverpool ’s spending is being talked about more than the players they have lost or moved on in this window.

He feels it is more replacing and rebuilding rather than adding to the side which won the Premier League title at a canter last season.

“What I feel is not being talked about enough – although you have to make your own decision when you talk about it – [is that] I’ve lost four players that have started regularly,” said Slot. “And one of them, I, we, his family, lost him. That’s Diogo. Then Darwin might be on the verge of leaving. Luis Diaz was a definite starter, and Trent [Alexander-Arnold] was a definite starter.

“So normally in the Premier League, teams only buy, and never sell. We do both. We lost players in a good phase of their career. I’m used to that, and it sometimes gives new energy as well.”

Wrexham coy on Liverpool signing

Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson has refused to confirm whether his side are set to sign Liverpool starlet Lewis Koumas. The youngster has been linked with a season-long loan switch to the Championship side.

Asked about those reports, Parkinson responded: “There’s such a list of players and we seem to get linked to it with everybody. At this stage I just don’t want to really comment on any individuals.”

Man Utd explain pursuit of Sesko

Man Utd were linked with a move to Benjamin Sesko when he was making his name at Red Bull Salzburg, before seeing him join RB Leipzig. They have now pounced to land the Slovenian with their hierarchy thrilled to have secured his signature.

Jason Wilcox, director of football, said: “Benjamin possesses a rare combination of electrifying pace and the ability to physically dominate defenders, making him one of the most exceptional young talents in world football.

“We have followed Benjamin’s career closely; all of our data analysis and research concluded that he has the required qualities and personality to thrive at Manchester United.”

Newcastle striker search won’t change Isak stance

It is understood that, even if a new striker is signed by Newcastle, they will not u-turn on their firm stance regarding Isak’s future. Howe has been aware of the hierarchy’s stance has been left to smooth things out with the player.

Newcastle’s decision not to officially discipline the player has been a conscious decision. Isak didn’t go on their pre-season tour of Asia but later was seen training at former club Real Sociedad. The club are aware that it will be easier to reintegrate him into the squad if they take a soft approach in that sense.

Newcastle REFUSE to sell Isak

Alexander Isak has been left fuming after Newcastle made it clear to him that he will not be sold this summer – ending his hopes of a move to Liverpool.

The Swede was told of the club’s decision with the Telegraph reporting he did not take it well and will continue training away from the first-team. Isak has been informed that, until he accepts that he will not be getting the move away he wanted, he will not play for Newcastle after being left out of their pre-season games.

Eddie Howe has been the club’s spokesperson and had been open and honest about the possibility that Isak could leave the club after three years, but their Saudi Arabian have taken a hard line regarding their refusal to sell.

Sesko’s first statement

“The history of Manchester United is obviously very special but what really excites me is the future.

“When we discussed the project, it was clear that everything is in place for this team to continue to grow and compete for the biggest trophies again soon.

“From the moment that I arrived, I could feel the positive energy and family environment that the club has created. It is clearly the perfect place to reach my maximum level and fulfil all of my ambitions.

“I cannot wait to start learning from Ruben [Amorim] and connecting with my team-mates to achieve the success that we all know we are capable of together.”

Man Utd complete Sesko deal

Man United have officially won the race for Benjamin Sesko after hijacking Newcastle’s move for the striker. Sesko, 22, arrives from German club RB Leipzig in a deal worth up to £74million.

Ruben Amorim’s side will pay £66.4m up front plus a further £7.6m in potential add-ons. Sesko has signed a five-year contract, keeping him at Old Trafford until June 2030.

Rodrygo’s stance on leaving Real

Jakub Kiwior is interested in leaving Arsenal for a club who’d guarantee him regular game time. Since joining the Gunners from Italian side Spezia in January 2023, Poland international Kiwior largely been a stopgap for his injured team-mates.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a solid run of starts in the spring following Gabriel Magalhaes’ season-ending injury and was the subject of interest from Porto, whose £26m bid was rejected by Arsenal. But that might not be the end of interest in Kiwior, as the Athletic report that he’s keen to explore opportunities with clubs where he’d be considered a first-choice player.

Liverpool poised to stick with options

Liverpool boss Arne Slot claims he is ‘happy’ with his options at centre-back despite the Reds having been linked with a new defender. He said: “They can definitely play there as well and you forget Joe Gomez.

“Unfortunately he [Gomez] has a minor injury at the moment but he will be back with the team soon. I’m really happy with the players we are having and we have numerous players who can play in the position.”

Jackson, Chelsea exit, potential ins and Newcastle’s role

So, a summary of where we’re at..

Chelsea are currently looking to add Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig and Man United’s Alejandro Garnacho – it remains to be seen if they will end up landing both.

Nicolas Jackson’s future may fund those moves but it could also be dependant on Newcastle’s next move. They want a new striker and look to have missed out on Benjamin Sesko and are now weighing up their options.

Chelsea set Jackson price tag

Chelsea are ready to accept around £50m after Nicolas Jackson told the club he wanted leave Stamford Bridge after two seasons at the Blues.

Jackson has led the line for the club and been their first choice No 9 since joining from Villarreal but has seen two new strikers arrive this summer. The Senegal international was left out of Chelsea’s pre-season friendly against Bayer Leverkusen on Friday after it was agreed he could seek pastures new.

It was understood that the west Londoners wanted around £80m before they let their striker leave, but that stance has since cooled. The Times now reports they would want a similar figure to the one they receive for Noni Madueke – which was £52m.

Baleba swap NOT on the cards

Brighton star Carlos Baleba is understood to be Man Utd’s top target, even if a deal will be difficult to complete this summer.

The Seagulls have slapped a price tag north of £100m on the Cameroon international and are insistent they won’t sell before the start of this season. The player himself is also understood to be willing to wait another 12 months before becoming the latest big-money exit from The Amex.

United will nevertheless try to get a deal done, but any proposal won’t include Toby Collyer. Reports had suggested the academy graduate could be used as a makeweight in a possible Baleba offer, but those appear wide of the mark.

Newcastle ‘can’t involve’ Isak

Eddie Howe admits that it is “clear” that he “can’t involve” Alexander Isak at Newcastle whilst the noise around his future persists.

Newcastle rejected a £110m bid from Liverpool last week after the striker told them he wanted to explore his options. Howe has not closed the door on Isak playing against but concedes, as things stand, he will remain on the outside.

He said: “We’ve had discussions and it’s clear at the moment that we can’t involve him with the group. I don’t know how long that will be for, but that’s the latest.”
