Former Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson has opened up about his first date since splitting from Zara McDermott before revealing the advice he received from his friend Pete Wicks

Sam Thompson has opened up on his dating life since splitting from Zara McDermott. Speaking on his podcast Staying Relevant with co-host Pete Wicks he opened up on his recent date.
The former Made in Chelsea star admitted: “I was so nervous that I messaged Pete and it was the sweetest thing ever, he basically sent me a list of what I had to do.”
Sam, 32, then got Pete’s list of dating tips up on his phone and said: “Don’t overthink it and enjoy it” to which Sam replied to Pete via text: “Do I wait inside or is that overthinking it?

Pete, 37, responded: “Yep, that’s overthinking it, go outside, get a drink and chill. Staying outside like a weirdo on the street, text her and ask ‘what she would like to drink?’ and order hers so it’s sat on the table and is waiting for her.”
Sam replied: “Such a good idea. Me getting advice, this is great!”
Pete added: “Then when she arrives say ‘hello’ and say ‘cheers to good times and a good date’. Look her in the eyes when you cheers (not in a creepy way) and tell her she ‘looks stunning’.”
Pete then got a call post-date from Sam and said that he seemed to have “handled it very well”. Sam admitted he was nervous about dating again but said thankfully Pete was there advising on what to do throughout.
Sam, who was crowned King of the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! jungle last year, ended his five-year relationship with Zara, 28, back in December. Zara has since moved on from Sam with One Direction star Louis Tomlinson, 33.
Pete said he is “happy” for Sam’s ex and singer Louis’ after they were spotted holding hands and kissing during a trip to LA earlier this month.
Speaking on KISS Breakfast, where he and Olivia Attwood took over from Perri Kiely and Jordan Banjo for the week, Pete said: “I know them, I have a sight connection there and you know, I’m happy, I’m happy for them.
“That’s amazing., I’ve seen the pictures of them walking through a car park; it’s really romantic… I’m really struggling not to say anything but it is good gossip. I might tell you some more off-air.”
