Inside Alyce Tran’s Lavish Three-Day English Wedding as One Notable Absence Sparks Questions

Inside Alyce Tran’s Lavish Three-Day English Wedding — and the Notable Sydney Names Who Were Missing

Entrepreneur Alyce Tran and British music executive Rob Simpkins have celebrated their marriage with an extravagant three-day wedding in the English countryside, drawing an impressive guest list from Sydney’s social scene.

Held at the exclusive Estelle Manor in Oxfordshire, the celebrations brought together business figures, designers and prominent socialites from Australia.

However, while many of Tran’s closest friends travelled across the world for the occasion, the absence of several well-known names has sparked conversation among Sydney’s elite.

Among those attending were Aussie Home Loans heiress Deborah Symond O’Neil, Pilates entrepreneur Bernadette Sukkar and her businessman husband Jordan Sukkar.

Public relations specialist Montarna McDonald was also present, alongside Tran’s sister Caro Tran and socialites Kristina McCourt, Barbara Coombes and Kate Bond.

Skincare entrepreneur Michael Porter attended with his husband, Giorgio Armani publicist Billy Mitchell.

Photos shared from the celebrations showed guests enjoying the luxurious surroundings while marking the couple’s long-awaited ceremony.

One Absence Raised Particular Interest

Interior designer and socialite Poppy Tzaneros, formerly Poppy O’Neil, was among the most notable people missing from the event.

Her absence attracted attention because of her longstanding friendship with Tran.

Adding to the curiosity, members of Tzaneros’ extended family were reportedly present, including her sister-in-law Maude Tzaneros and her sister Barbara Coombes.

No public explanation has been given for why Poppy did not attend.

Other Familiar Faces Were Also Missing

Beauty entrepreneur Kristin Fisher was another prominent Sydney figure not seen at the wedding.

Fisher has faced a difficult period involving both her business and personal life. Her Double Bay salon entered voluntary administration in late 2023, with reported debts exceeding $900,000.

She later reached an agreement concerning almost $1 million in unpaid tax liabilities.

More recently, NSW Police confirmed they were examining a complaint involving allegations of threatening telephone calls made to fellow beauty business owner Sharon Lee Hamilton-Clarke.

No charges have been laid, and it has not been established that Fisher made the alleged calls.

Reports have also suggested that Fisher and her partner Shannon Sykes recently experienced tension in their relationship.

Socialite Lou O’Neil was absent as well, although she recently welcomed her second child.

Artist and social figure Dina Broadhurst also missed the celebration. She was instead spending the European summer in Rome with her son and his girlfriend.

Tran and Simpkins exchanged vows at Estelle Manor, a sprawling country estate covering approximately 3,000 acres in the Cotswolds.

The luxurious private members’ club and hotel has become a sought-after destination for wealthy and high-profile guests.

The property previously hosted the wedding of Eve Jobs, daughter of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, and Olympic equestrian Harry Charles. Other celebrities, including Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian, have reportedly stayed there.

Guests at Tran and Simpkins’ wedding enjoyed several events across three days, including time at the estate’s Roman-inspired Eynsham Baths spa before the main ceremony.

Tran, who co-founded Australian accessories label The Daily Edited, later established the luxury tableware company In The Roundhouse.

Her design aesthetic was incorporated into the wedding reception through customised table settings created by her own brand.

For the ceremony, Tran wore a lace two-piece outfit by Chanel, while Simpkins chose a tailored Dior suit.

The details reflected the bride’s well-known interest in fashion, interiors and luxury entertaining.

A Romance That Moved Quickly

Tran and Simpkins reportedly met through the exclusive dating platform Raya in May 2024.

Their relationship progressed rapidly, with Simpkins proposing approximately seven months later in December 2024.

Simpkins works as chief marketing officer for the sports division of Roc Nation, the entertainment business founded by rapper Jay-Z and closely associated with major stars including Beyoncé.

The couple’s English wedding ultimately became one of the most glamorous gatherings of Sydney’s social calendar.

Yet beyond the designer outfits, luxury setting and high-profile guests, it was the unexplained absence of one of the bride’s longtime friends that became the detail attracting the most attention.
