Reuben Owen and his girlfriend, Jess, marked a significant moment in their relationship during the festive special of Reuben Owen: Christmas in the Dales on Tuesday evening.
Reuben, 21, shot to stardom on his family’s popular programme Our Yorkshire Farm, which chronicles the bustling life of the Owen family at Ravenseat Farm in the Yorkshire Dales. The young farmer, son of Amanda and Clive Owen, has eight siblings – Raven, Miles, Edith, Violet, Sidney, Annas, Clementine, and Nancy.
Their cherished documentary series, Our Yorkshire Farm, concluded in 2022 following Amanda and Clive’s split. However, Reuben has since enjoyed considerable success with his own Channel 5 show Reuben Owen: Life In the Dales.
During Tuesday night’s festive special of his successful series, Reuben and Jess announced their plans to spend their first Christmas together, marking a significant milestone in their relationship. The couple celebrated their one-year anniversary back in October.

In addition, Reuben organised a Christmas party at Jess’ family farm as a gesture of gratitude for their family and friends’ support with his workload over the past year, reports the Mirror. Before the party could take place, Reuben, his colleagues Sonny and Capper, and Jess’ father David had a substantial barn renovation project to tackle, with the added stress of ensuring it was ready in time for the Christmas celebration.
In a significant step for the young pair, they selected and raised a group of turkey chicks for their inaugural Christmas celebration as a couple. However, staying true to the programme’s unpredictable nature, they found themselves working as a team to retrieve the birds after they made a successful break for freedom.
During the festive episode, Reuben reflected on their journey together, telling his partner: “This is our second Christmas together darling!” with Jess responding: “Yeah, it will be, won’t it!”. Reuben observed: “Time has flown, hasn’t it?” prompting Jess to agree: “Fast, yeah, I can’t believe it!”.
When Reuben enquired about her Christmas wishlist this year, Jess confessed: “I don’t actually know to be honest! Don’t really need anything!”. Reuben, however, was eager to share his own desires, declaring: “Articulated wrap!” whilst jokingly mentioning his hopes for another digger as well.

Last October, Reuben commemorated their first anniversary with a heartfelt Instagram tribute, posting: “Officially one year of loving you @jessica.ellwood1. Love you so much #lovemygirlfriend #sobeutiful” accompanied by heart emojis. Jess responded warmly: “We have made so many amazing memories together, i love you so much xxx” alongside a heart emoji. The young couple’s fans and programme viewers were swift to offer their congratulations.
One supporter commented: “you 2 are made for one another ,so happy together”, whilst another wrote: “done all right for yourself lad ..lovely lass perfect couple here’s to many more years of adventures and fun …good luck guys” and a third admirer noted: “We need to see more of you guys on TV…great fun, relaxed, and interesting to watch.”
Meanwhile, another follower posted: “Lovely photos and a lovely couple”, with someone else adding: “You truly are a beautiful couple xx congratulations on your 1st year together here’s to.many more” whilst a separate fan chimed in: “I really love this couple. They look so lovely together. Congratulations on your first year together and I wish you many more.”
