Capital FM star reveals she’s pregnant with first baby as she says ‘there’s a new player joining the team’
CAPITAL FM star Lydia Rodford has revealed she is pregnant with her first baby.
The radio star, 27, announced her happy news by telling fans: “There’s a new player joining the team.”
Lydia is set to welcome her first child with her partner, footballer Dan Webster.
In a sweet video, her man, who plays for Horsham FC, could be seen with his back to the camera.
Lydia then draped baby booties over his shoulder followed by a scan.
Next the couple, who have been together for two years, revealed their baseball caps which said “Mum” and “Dad”.
Lydia’s followers rushed to congratulate her, with one saying: “Just the best news.”
A second thrilled fan wrote: “AHHH congratulations Lydia!!”
Another friend commented: “The best! Can’t wait to meet bubs.”
While a fourth added: “AHHHH biggest congratulations, girl.
“Becoming a mumma is the best feeling in the world!”
Lydia is best known for hosting the Weekend Breakfast Show on Capital every Saturday and Sunday from 5 to 9am.
The rising star joined the station in 2023, becoming a huge part of the team.
Meanwhile, Lydia joins fellow Capital star Sian Welby, 39, in being a first- time mum.
The broadcaster welcomed her daughter Ruby in June 2024 with fiancé Jake Beckett.
Sian, who is also known for hosting This Morning, has kept fans up-to-date with life as a new mum on the Capital Breakfast Show.
The popular presenter also documented her pregnancy, from the initial announcement through to Ruby’s arrival.
She even allowed celebrity guests on Capital FM to take a stab at guessing the baby’s gender, with Meghan Trainor correctly guessing she was having a girl.
The star announced the baby’s name with an adorable snap of the tiny tot in a personalised jumper on Instagram that read: “Our little Ruby.”
