SEALED WITH A KISS!
Peter Phillips and his NHS nurse bride celebrate with a kiss after tying the knot as Kate & Wills lead royals at wedding
PETER Phillips and his NHS nurse wife have celebrated their marriage with a kiss while Princess Kate dazzled in a flowing dress as she led royals at the reception.
Peter, 48, and Harriet Sperling, 45, officially announced their engagement last August and tied the knot in the picturesque Cotswolds today.
Kate and Prince William were seen beaming as they braved the rain upon arrival at All Saints Church, Kemble, near Cirencester.
Their children – George, Charlotte and Louis – were not with them.
Bride Harriet cut a stunning figure on arrival as she donned a white lace gown and tiara for the royal wedding.
King Charles and Queen Camilla were also in good spirits as they waved to adoring royal fans ahead of the intimate ceremony.
Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie were seen arriving with their husbands sheltering them from rain under umbrellas.
Beatrice wore a green and white patterned dress, while Eugenie opted for a more muted outfit with a navy ensemble.
Peter, who is Princess Anne’s son and counts the King as his uncle, married Harriet in the private ceremony this afternoon.
The self-proclaimed former “Ibiza party girl” and Phillips’ wedding was attended by the King and Queen – who will leave early to go to The Epsom Derby.
Peter’s sister Zara Phillips and her husband Mike Tindall were also present as the wider royal family comes together in a show of unity.
The wider circle of guests were seen arriving in a mix of silk dresses and sharp three-piece suits shortly before noon.
All Saints Church is just a 20 minute drive from Gatcombe Park, Princess Anne’s countryside estate.
The first cousin of William and Harry, Peter is 19th in the line of succession to the British throne and is also the late Queen Elizabeth’s eldest grandson.
His wife Harriet is a paediatric specialist nurse and freelance writer, as well as mum to daughter Georgina from a previous relationship.
Members of the public also gathered in the Gloucestershire village as the wedding guests arrived for the momentous occasion.
Metal barriers were erected and roads closed around All Saints Church as the royal wedding party arrived.
Just yesterday afternoon, flowers were seen being delivered outside the church, with a large convoy of police on motorcycles also nearby.
The celebrations will move to the wedding reception, taking place on the nearby Gatcombe Park estate in Minchinhampton after the ceremony.
With long blonde hair and dark eyes, Harriet bears a striking resemblance to both Peter’s last girlfriend Lindsay and his ex-wife Autumn Kelly, 46.
Peter and Canadian-born Autumn – who share daughters Savannah and Isla – wed in 2008.
But in February 2020 they confirmed they had split the previous year.
Peter then met Lindsay, an ex-classmate of his sister Zara Tindall, at £45,000-a-year Gordonstoun School in Moray, Scotland.
However, the couple split in early 2024 and businessman Peter, the son of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, was seen strolling hand-in-hand at Badminton with Harriet weeks later.
A source previously told The Sun: “They looked completely smitten and he was grinning from ear to ear.”
“He looked like the cat that got the cream and acted without a care in the world. He didn’t seem to mind who saw them together.
“She looked very happy and relaxed in his company and pleased to be shown off at one of the biggest social events in the equestrian world.”
NHS nurse Harriet is herself divorced from her fitness instructor husband.
Following the wedding, Charles is expected to make a dash to Epsom for Derby Day, the one fixture the King will not shift in his diary.
The late Queen missed it only twice in seventy years on the throne.
The monarch and Camilla now hold her old patronage of the Jockey Club, and they will be there when the gates fly open.
