Sam Armytage has shared heartbreaking family news.

The former Sunrise host revealed on Tuesday that her “beautiful” grandmother, Dorothy Flannery, had died at the age of 100.

“Last week, we laid our beautiful Nanny Flannery to rest,” Armytage posted on Instagram.

“She was 100 and she was just pure magic.”

In her emotional tribute, Armytage shared personal messages from friends of the family, reflecting how widely her grandmother was loved.

“She was universally adored and in return, she was totally adoring,” Armytage said.

“A grandmother’s love is like no other.”

In one memory shared by a friend, Armytage revealed her grandmother loved the colour yellow.

“The autumn day she passed, the light shone through the glorious Ginko tree in my garden,” she wrote.

“She’s shining with my mama now (& Banjo) … how lucky am I to have three Guardian Angels,” another person said.

Another simply wrote: “She deserves a good rest but Lordy, we shall miss her.”
