PRINCE William has taken a savage swipe at Simon Cowell as Amanda Holden asked him to be a guest judge on Britain’s Got Talent after she was “stranded abroad.”

The last semi-final of the ITV show is taking place tonight and it’s certainly drama-filled.

Presenters Ant and Dec told fans Amanda, 55, “nearly didn’t make it” to the show this week as she was stranded on the Isles of Scilly.

Amanda said: “That is correct.”

Ant and Dec gave her a knowing look as if they knew something the other judges didn’t.

They played a clip of Amanda chatting with the future king on Heart Breakfast.

Alongside her co-host Jamie Theakston, Amanda told the prince she hoped helicopters were taking off the Isle because she had to get back to film Britain’s Got Talent.

She said to Prince William: “If you’re still here we could just do it live, you could be like a fifth judge.”

Prince William, 43, then made a brutal dig at Simon, saying: “Yeah I could definitely do better than Simon.”

TV personality Amanda, seemed to forget her comments were being recorded, as she wholeheartedly agreed with William.

Fans thought Prince William’s comment was hilarious – and begged for him to join the show.

One fan said: “If Prince William keeps this up, he’ll be getting a place in the final of #BGT #partyatthepalace.”

Another fan added: “Would actually be so good if Prince William came on and judged for the final.”

After the video was played for the judges during the live show, Simon was seen looking wide-eyed and taken aback.

Ant and Dec joked that William was after his job.

Amanda admitted: “That’s going to be a bit awkward if he’s [Prince William’s] at the Royal Variety.”

Simon dismissed the idea, adding: “Doesn’t matter.”

Radio host Amanda then quizzed Simon on if he thought Prince William would be a “good fifth judge.”

Despite Simon’s skills being so closely critiqued, he insisted that William “would be brilliant,” on the show and declared they must make it happen.
