King Charles had his eldest granddaughter in mind during his recent trip to Northern Ireland.
The King, 77, arrived in the country for a three-day trip on Tuesday, May 19, and was accompanied by Queen Camilla. During their travels, he visited W5 LIFE at Odyssey Place — a 20,000 sq. ft, state-of-the-art digital learning hub — in Belfast, where he met with young local business owners and picked up a special something for Princess Charlotte.
While chatting with the young entrepreneurs, all of whom are supported by the King’s Trust, the monarch selected a beaded bag charm for Charlotte, 11.
The King picked up the gift from Empower Flower, a jewelry business run by owner Rachel Rose, who gave him the charm.
He told her, “Thank you, she will love that.”
Rose said, “I wanted to give back after experiencing some dark times myself,” per Hello. “I’m trying to encourage people to come off their phones and use their hands to create some magic.”

She later posted a clip of her meeting with the King to Instagram, where she wrote, “I’ll genuinely never get over this moment 😭💗.”

While the King picked up an accessory for Charlotte on his Ireland trip, his granddaughter is fond of gifting her own creations to family, including a bracelet she made and gave to her father, Prince William.
During a trip to South Africa in November 2024 ahead of his Earthshot Prize Awards ceremony that year, the Prince of Wales, 43, revealed the story behind a “Papa” bracelet made for him by his daughter
“Well, this is a relic, if you like, from a Taylor Swift concert that my daughter decided that she wanted to create a bracelet for,” he said when asked about the accessory. “She gave it to me when I came away. So I promised that I’d wear it and try not to lose while I was out here.”
Earlier that year, the King was spotted with a friendship bracelet of his own while departing the State Opening of Parliament in July 2024. The red and yellow accessory, which he wore on his right wrist, was quite similar in style to a bracelet Charlotte had worn days before.
During a visit to Wimbledon with her mom, Kate Middleton, and aunt Pippa Middleton, Princess Charlotte was seen with two string bracelets on her right wrist.
While the bracelets were pale pink and blue, not the same exact color as the King’s, the royals did each start wearing them around the same time.
The little princess’ love for an accessory was apparent once more at Wimbledon in 2025, when she was seen in the stands wearing a silver Pandora bracelet with personalized charms while watching the gentlemen’s singles final match from the Royal Box.

Social media accounts zeroed in on the three charms on her bracelet, which included an emerald for her birth month of May, as well as a flat heart charm with an engraving and a rose gold charm that appeared to be Nala from The Lion King.
King Charles and Princess Charlotte share a special bond, royal author Ingrid Seward previously told PEOPLE.

“He once wanted a daughter,” Seward said in 2025 for an exclusive cover story. “I would think he has a very nice relationship with his granddaughter.”
With two brothers — Prince George, 12, and Prince Louis, 8 — Charlotte is William and Kate’s only daughter. A palace insider told PEOPLE last year, “She’s a natural and has taken to royal events like a duck to water.”
