Delta Goodrem reveals Beyonce had secret involvement in her Eurovision entry ahead of finale

Delta Goodrem’s Eurovision act features a secret weapon borrowed from music royalty, transforming her from outsider to grand final contender.

Delta Goodrem has wowed audiences at Eurovision so far with jaw-dropping performances of her power ballad Eclipse. But it seems she has one mega superstar to thank for her spectacular set: Beyonce.

The proud Aussie has clocked up fans and votes from across the globe this past week during her dress rehearsal and semi-final performances in Vienna, Austria.

Pyrotechnics, smoke machines and wind machines aside, no doubt the theatrics of her performance, which includes the singer mounting her golden piano before being elevated high into the air by a tiny platform that emerges from the centre of the instrument, has added to her set’s wow factor.

Pyrotechnics, smoke machines and wind machines aside, no doubt the theatrics of her performance, which includes the singer mounting her golden piano before being elevated high into the air by a tiny platform that emerges from the centre of the instrument, has added to her set’s wow factor.

And it seems Goodrem has borrowed the special platform off Queen Bey, who used the very same lift when performing at the opening of Atlantis The Royal in Dubai back in January 2023.

“I had to get the lift flown in from the States,” the Aussie singer told The Sun ahead of tomorrow’s Eurovision finale. “I have borrowed it. I’ve never flown out of a piano before and I’ve done a lot of shows.”

“When it comes to the performance, there was like a shopping list of things I could have and yes, I basically said yes to everything,” she added.

“I go into the final with a lot of respect for what Eurovision is. It’s an icon. It’s 70 years of being iconic.”

Needless to say, the crowd was in awe of her performance, as were fans who managed to catch a glimpse of the moment from home.

In a clip shared on X, one fan hailed Delta’s performance as “Australia’s winning moment” and plenty agreed.

“Delta just SMASHED the stage of #eurovision. That’s what an Artist means,” someone commented.

“Guys, Australia might have finally done it,” another declared.

Australia is one of 10 countries that have advanced to the grand final, including Bulgaria, Ukraine, Norway, Romania, Malta, Cyprus, Albania, Denmark and Czechia.

The last time Australia came close to win the contest was when Dami Im represented Aussies back in 2016 and finished up in second place.

However, it seems Goodrem’s odds at taking the crown are higher than ever.

While the Born To Try singer originally landed at around nine or ten in the odds to take home the prize, since her second semi-final performance, she has skyrocketed all the way to second place and, in doing so, has knocked off favourites Greece and Israel.

According to the latest Eurovision odds at the time of publication, Australia now has a 19 per cent chance of winning the grand prize, behind Finland’s 42 per cent.

Other countries have fallen further behind, with Greece dropping to 9 per cent and Israel and Denmark both dipping to 5 per cent.
