She’s done something extraordinary, now Australia could be on the verge of making history.
Delta Goodrem skyrockets to the second favourite in odds to win Eurovision for Australia
Newly released odds for Eurovision reveal a historic rise in popularity across Europe for Delta Goodrem, and she’s knocked some huge favourites from the top.
There’s incredible news for Australia today after Delta Goodrem has seen an unprecedented rise in the odds to win Eurovision following her performance last night.
Goodrem took to the stage and did Australia proud as she shot straight through to tomorrow night’s finale.
While the songstress originally landed at around nine or ten in the odds to take home the prize, since her performance, she has skyrocketed all the way to second place and, in doing so, has knocked off favourites Greece and Israel.
According to the latest odds, Australia now has a 16 per cent chance of winning the grand prize, behind Finland’s 34 per cent.
Other countries have fallen further behind, with Greece dropping to 9 per cent and Israel and Denmark both dipping to 5 per cent.

Her soaring vocals, paired with some incredible staging, helped transform the Aussie entry song, Eclipse, to entirely new levels, and it helped win over critics and audiences all over Europe.
Despite the meteoric rise in the odds, it will still be somewhat of an uphill battle for Goodrem to win over the public vote on the night.
When it comes to voting, Eurovision is split 50/50 between a Jury of judges and then a country’s public vote.
Goodrem is all but guaranteed at this stage to top – or at least come very close to – the Jury votes, which will be a huge win for Australia. The judges traditionally adore great staging and a technically impressive vocal. However, while the public has loved a soaring pitch-perfect performance in the past, trends in the past few years have leaned more toward fun, novelty songs, which could see Goodrem missing out on the night.
