DATE DISASTERÂ
âMortifiedâ Coleen Nolan holds back tears and wants âthe ground to swallow her upâ after being snubbed by date
A âMORTIFIEDâ Coleen Nolan got teary eyed and said she wanted âthe ground to swallow her upâ after she was brutally snubbed by her date on TV.
The Loose Women star recently revealed she really wanted to sign up for E4âs Celebs Go Dating to prove to older women itâs never to late to find love again.
But tonightâs instalment of the dating show didnât go Coleenâs way at all as she was left holding back tears, embarrassed by her date Steve.
The celeb cast each went on two dates in Tenerife and at the end of the trip they all gathered together to see who they want to continue dating in the UK.
While Coleen, 61, stood in front of everyone, the dating experts asked her dates to stand up if they wanted to see her again.
After what felt like and eternity for viewers and probably Coleen herself, none of her dates got to their feet.
TV star Coleen was instantly upset: she had told her co-stars about her incredible date with Steve, saying there was plenty of sexual chemistry but it seems he felt differently.
MAFS icon Lucinda Light turned to James Haskell and could be heard saying: âThatâs embarrassing.â
In her confessional, Coleen recalled the moment insisting it was âmortifyingâ and she wanted âthe ground to swallow her up.â
Steve explained his decision: âMe and Coleen from the start was an absolute hit from the start emotionally but the only thing for me was the sexual chemistry just wasnât there.â
Coleen looked as though she was on the edge of breaking down, but she stood strong in front of Steve listening to his brutal remarks.
The experts then asked her how she was feeling and she didnât hold back.
She said: âI thought me and Steve got on like so well.â
Steve added: âI hope that after this that we can still be friends; I would love to see you again.â
Coleen clapped back saying: âI didnât come on here to find a friend.
âIâve got lots of male friends that I get on great with.â
She was last in a relationship with her ex-husband of 11-years Ray Fensome.
Coleen first found fame as a member of the Irish girl group The Nolans, singing alongside her sisters.
She became a regular panellist on Loose Women back in 2000 and still makes occasional appearances on the ITV show today.
