final toast
The unusual way Vernon and Tess marked the end of their marriage after issuing joint split statement
TESS Daly and Vernon Kay shocked the nation with news of their break-up on Friday.
The former Strictly anchor and Radio 2 DJ announced the separation with a joint Instagram post – and it has been claimed they went live with the announcement while raising a champagne cheers in their joint mansion.
The Mirror claims the pair are “keeping it classy” with regard to their split – hence the posh fizz marking the finish of their time together.
Despite their romance faltering, the couple are still living in the same property and eager to mark the next steps in their lives.
A source close to the couple told the publication: “After they released the statement, Vernon and Tess took a moment to toast each other and their futures.
“They only want the best for each other and their family.
“There has been no big fallout, more a gradual growing apart and wanting different things.
“They have vowed to stay friends and to keep things classy when it comes to the split and any future interviews they give.
“They only want the best for each other”.
The Sun has gone to representatives for Vernon and Tess for comment.
Tess, 57, and the Radio 2 DJ, 51, tied the knot in 2003 and share two daughters, Phoebe, 21, and Amber, 16.
Meanwhile, Tess was seen dancing with their eldest daughter just hours before their statement dropped.
The scenes were posted just hours before the break up was made public.
Sharing the news of their split, Tess and Vernon wrote in an Instagram post: “After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably.
“This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire for what is best for both of us.
“We remain great friends and most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority.
There are no other parties involved in this decision.
“We kindly ask for privacy during this time as we navigate this transition together.
“We will not be making any further public comments.”
Tess and Vernon were last seen publicly together in February of this year when they hosted an episode of The One Show.
Previously, their daughter had hinted at a sign of the split after she posted images with her parents separately.
