Tragedy as body of woman found by member of public on popular seafront path

THE body of a woman was found on a popular coastal path by a walker this morning.

The passer-by made the grim discovery just after 7am on the undercliff path at Peacehaven seafront in East Sussex.

Sussex Police said it is confirming the woman’s identity.

Officers will inform her next of kin and her death is not being treated as suspicious it added.

A police cordon was in place this morning and police were in the area, reports The Argus.

The Undercliff Walk path runs for three miles along the white chalk cliffs of East Sussex.

The walkway is from Brighton Marina to Saltdean and is popular with walkers and cyclists.
