Police have found a body in their search for a missing student who was last seen on CCTV running along a busy road before suddenly vanishing.
Aryan Sharma, 20, was captured in the eerie footage on the outskirts of Loughborough, Leicestershire, in the early hours of November 22. The robotics student left his Loughborough University accommodation that evening at around 9.30pm and was later seen jogging down Meadow Lane at around 12.30am. Sharma had been walking towards the Stanford on the Soar area when he disappeared, police said, as a major search was launched for the student last month.

While formal identification is yet to take place, it is believed to be that of Aryan. His family are being supported by specialist officers and have asked for privacy at this time.
Aryan’s parents, Sukhi and Rakesh Sharma, who live in London, previously said in an interview that the 20-year-old was close with his family and dreamt about working for the RAF.
In an emotional plea to her son to return home, mum Sukhi said: “I love you. I always have, I always will. No matter what, please come home. We’re all waiting for you. Please come home.

“Christmas is coming. His 21st birthday is coming. His sister’s waiting for him, she asks every day. I just want my boy back. I want him home.”
Leicestershire police said extensive police resources had been deployed to support the missing persons investigation – including trained search officers, the force drone, police dogs, police divers, the National Police Air Service (NPAS) and the specialist volunteers from Leicestershire Search and Rescue (SAR).
“Alongside the search, officers and detectives have been reviewing hours of CCTV footage, reviewing phone data and gathering vital information from witnesses who have already come forward,” the force said at the time.
A file will be prepared for HM Coroner.
