Woods’ fiance Adam Collard gave a health update
LAURA WOODS collapsed on live TV while presenting coverage of England Women’s clash against Ghana.
The popular host, 38, who is engaged to Love Island star Adam Collard, 30, was on ITV4 with Ian Wright and Anita Asante when the terrifying incident occurred.
Woods, who became a mum for the first time to baby Leo in January this year, was just four minutes into ITV’s coverage when she fainted with the cameras rolling.
The TNT Sports star fell forward towards Wright and Asante, with the punditry pair attempting to hold her up.
But she then collapsed to the ground in worrying scenes.
The camera quickly pulled away to a wide shot of the stadium and ITV’s coverage then cut to an extended advert break.
When the show resumed after around six minutes, Woods had been replaced by fellow presenter Katie Shanahan.
She immediately gave viewers an update on Woods’ health.
Shanahan, who was initially acting as ITV’s pitch-side reporter, said: “As you might have noticed, we don’t have the wonderful Laura Woods.
“She has just been taken ill and is in very good hands.”
Moments later, Woods’ fiance Collard also gave fans a positive update.
He added: “Laura is all ok and with the right people. Thank you for all of your kind messages.”
Shanahan then declared at half-time of England’s 2-0 win over Ghana: “We want to assure you that she (Woods) is doing ok. We all send her our love.”
Woods herself gave an update on the situation later on Tuesday night.
She said: “Gosh that was a bit weird. Sorry to worry everyone. I’m OK.
“The wonderful paramedics at Saints have said it’s probably a virus. Just need a bit of rest and hydration.
“I’m really embarrassed that happened on TV, but a big thank you to my colleagues at ITV who have really looked after me tonight.
“And to Wrighty and Neets for catching me, and sorry again.”
Woods is one of TV’s most beloved sports presenters.
Initially a regular on Sky Sports, she made the switch to TNT Sports in July 2023 before dating Love Island star Collard.
In July 2024, she announced she was pregnant with their first child.
And several months later, the happy couple got engaged while on holiday in Cornwall.
Woods then took a step back from presenting duties before giving birth in January this year.
She returned to screens in April for TNT’s coverage of the Champions League semi-final between Barcelona and Inter Milan.
And when not presenting top matches, Woods has been settling into life as a mum while making sure baby boy Leo becomes a die-hard Arsenal like herself.
